Earlier this year we asked our school community to have its say about a new name for St Pius X High School, Adamstown and we thank everyone who contributed to the discussion, shared their views on the names proposed and offered alternatives.
Following input from the school and wider community, the Trustees of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle resolved the school name be changed to Trinity Catholic College. Subsequent to a 30-day public exhibition period, which concluded on 21 July, the name is intended to change from the commencement of the 2025 school year.
The name Trinity Catholic College is a powerful reminder that we believe in one God, who eternally exists as three distinct Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Thank you for having your say – Trinity Catholic College
Thank you to those who provided feedback about our new name during the additional 30-day public consultation period.

Background
St Pius X High School, Adamstown will be transitioning to a Year 7 – 12 school with the addition of Year 11 students in 2025 and the full complement of students in 2026. With the addition of Year 11 and 12, came the opportunity to review and renew the school’s name.
We respect the history of St Pius X High School, Adamstown and will continue to acknowledge this. A new school name seeks to ensure we best support students and their educational outcomes now, and as we look to the future. The decision for a new school name sits with the Trustees of the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle and we welcome your participation.
