Transitioning to Years 7 to 12

Commencing with first Year 11 students in 2025

From 2024, Catholic secondary schools in Newcastle will commence a staged transition to Year 7 to Year 12 schools. This includes St Pius X High School, Adamstown, currently Years 7 to 10, commencing with its first Year 11 students in 2025 and becoming a full Year 7 to 12 school in 2026.

Feedback and consultation processes were held in 2022. During the consultation process, the opportunity to review and renew the school’s name was presented. A further consultation in early 2023 explored name options to enhance the spiritual formation of students and embrace a new spiritual charism and educational identity for our school.

We are pleased to confirm that St Pius X High School, Adamstown will become Trinity Catholic College from the commencement of the 2025 school year.

The name Trinity Catholic College is a powerful reminder that we believe in one God, who eternally exists as three distinct Persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Planning for the new name has progressed throughout 2023 and further updates to our school community will continue through to 2025.
