Pastoral Programs

Peer Support

When students commence at St Pius X in Year 7 they are supported in their transition from primary school by the Year 10 Peer Support Leaders. The Peer Support Leaders work in pairs with a group of eight to ten Year 7 students through a fortnightly program designed to ease the transition to high school during Term 1.

Community Days

Each year students are involved in community days designed to meet the needs of the particular cohort. These community days are based around the themes of Getting Along, Persistence, Confidence and Resilience. Where appropriate guest presenters are utilised on this day to work with the students. Previous guest presenters have included Brainstorm Productions, School Police Liaison Officers, Motivational Media, Beyond Blue, Karis Ministries, Lifeline Suicide Prevention and other relevant programs.

Wellbeing Programs

The Pastoral Team run a number of wellbeing programs throughout the year. Our Wellbeing Program focuses on positive relationships and behaviour, mental health, drugs and alcohol education, among other areas. We also run programs targeted to the needs of individual students, such as the Seasons for Growth bereavement program.
